AEMO Australian Energy Market Operator validates the meter exemption request and associated NMIs at different stages of the processing workflow.

Validations after meter exemption creation

The table below describes validations after a meter exemption is created

Family Failure exemptions can have an extension for 70 business days. Individual NMIs can have a 15-day extension

An extension is not allowed for meter malfunctions for FAMILY, WC_NMI, LV_CT_NMI types, and HV_NMI types with COMMS and METER nature values
