Generating Units
Overview
The Generating Units See Relevant Rules or Procedures interface displays a list of all generating units, along with additional details such as Generating unit details, Project commitment criteria and Scheduled capacity profile.
A site may consist of multiple types of generation technologies, e.g. Wind Turbines and a Solar PV. Each site can have multiple Generating Units assigned to it. Within each survey, you must add all the generating units, which are co-located and subject to a single connection agreement with a Network Service Provider When used in a B2B Procedure, refers to the DNSP, MDP, or MPB. (NSP Network Service Provider. A party that owns, operates or controls an electricity transmission or distribution system.).
You must add a generating unit for each Dispatchable Unit See Relevant Rules or Procedures ID (DUID Dispatchable Unit Identifier), as well as for each technology or stage that follows different development timelines.
To illustrate:
-
A coal fired power station submits one survey for the entire power station, listing each generating unit within the same survey.
-
A multi-stage wind farm with stages that have separate connection agreements and registration submits a separate survey for each stage.
-
A multi-stage wind farm with stages that use a single connection agreement, submits one survey with multiple generating units to represent each stage, even if the stages register under one DUID.
-
A hybrid solar and battery project submits one survey with two generating units - one for the solar and one for the battery - even if both register under a single DUID or are DC connected.
-
A co-located solar and battery project, where each technology has separate connection agreements and registration, submits a separate survey for each technology.
The New generating unit option displays depending on the survey status.
