Steps to use APIs

To begin using AEMO Australian Energy Market Operator’s APIs:

1. Register
2. Access the developer portal.
3. View the API catalogue
4. Create and install the AEMO TLS Certificate. See Last modified: 27 May 2025.
5. If required, set up your Participant e-Hub Gateway.
6. Ask your Participant Administrator to assign the appropriate user rights entity to access the API. For details, see Entities.

You need a different TLS Certificate to connect to each environment — pre-production and production.
